02 — How this works

Everything here
happens in public.

In the open. Branches, findings and costs are all readable. This is a build-in-public project — the visibility is the product, not a side effect.
Not work-for-hire. The floor isn't a place to get private work done to your order. Bring pushes that are interesting to watch being solved.
Nothing sensitive. Don't bring commercially sensitive material onto the floor. It will be visible, to everyone, permanently.

03 — Craft

How to push well

Go at the thing that annoys you. The itch is better information than a roadmap. If something here feels wrong to use, that's the push.
Build it rough first. Find the edge fast, then decide whether it's worth doing properly. Code arrives quicker than it can be reviewed — spend your attention on judgement, not typing.
Write down where it broke. A precisely described limit is worth more to the room than a half-finished feature. Both belong on the shelf.
Check the shelf first. Someone may have already hit this wall and mapped it.

House rules

The link stays in the room. There's no lock on the door. Passing the URL around is the only thing that actually breaks this.
Rough work is welcome work. Nothing on the bench is defended as finished. Critique the thinking, not the polish.
Say when it missed. Something built wrong and quietly abandoned helps nobody. Say so and it gets another pass.
Leave when it stops being worth it. Cancelling is a neutral act. A room people stay in out of guilt is a worse room.
